Price Structure and End User License Terms

Win-SSI is offered on a two tier-licensing basis.  The upper tier is an effective unlimited site licence (subject to receiving installation keys).  The standard tier is a per copy license structure.

Standard Tier

The Standard Tier pricing uses a sliding scale of prices:

The Standard Tier license entitles the user to the program executables, full electronic documentation and free program diagnostic hot line support.  Support involving the solution of engineering problems is charged at Soil & Structure Dynamics Ltd’s standard consultancy rates.

Upper Tier licensees wishing to install Win-SSI on other sites directly operated by the licensee would pay to a maximum of £37,080.00 £9000 for licensing on other sites.  Once the £37,080.00 £9000 limit has been reached, the license would be open in the manner of the Upper Tier license.  (Only one copy of the maintained source would be provided this to the original license site.)

Upper Tier

The Upper Tier program price is £37,080.00 £9000.

This user license permits the user to install Win-SSI on any compatible installation within a nominated user site.  Usually a user site will be deemed as a site where all machines are connected on the same local area network.  For Internet enabled systems, this would be defined as a network within a single sub-domain; i.e. access does not require routers or bridges to access systems.

The Upper Tier license entitles the user to the program executables, full electronic documentation and free program diagnostic hot line support.  Support involving the solution of engineering problems is charged at Soil & Structure Dynamics Ltd’s standard consultancy rates.

The Upper Tier user is entitled to a copy of all source code for the Win-SSI system; however, this will be the subject of a non-disclosure agreement to protect the commercial interests of Soil & Structure Dynamics Ltd.

Maintenance

The maintenance fee for Win-SSI is fixed at 25% of the cumulative initial license fee.  Payment of the maintenance fee entitles the user to free upgrades as they become available, bug and error reports, and bug fixes.

Documentation

The standard documentation for Win-SSI is provided in electronic format using one (or more) of the standard hypertext formats.  Printed copies of the documentation can be purchased for £100.00.

Taxes

For sales within the United Kingdom and the European Union, VAT is charged at 17.5%.  No taxes are payable outside of the European Union.  The licensee is responsible for payment of any local taxes including importation taxes.

Media & Distribution

Win-SSI is distributed on CD-ROM.  Within the United Kingdom and the European Union, this is distributed free of carriage.  For all other areas, the CD-ROM is distributed using a courier service.  The licensee is required to cover the cost of the distribution and any taxes levied by their authorities.
